"The Purpose of my work is to give a child a voice" Cindy Dennis Lucinda (Cindy) Dennis was born in St. Louis Missouri on May 22nd 1959. Cindy writes and illustrates children’s picture books. She writes books that empower parents and educators with the proper verbiage to empower children with the tools to keep them safe. Cindy has a youthful spirit and her illustrations capture that childlike heart she has. Cindy grew up in a time when children did not have a voice they were to be seen and not heard. Problem with that is it’s easy to become invisible. Cindy wants every child to know they have purpose, and they have worth. Each child has a voice a voice that must be heard. There is power in their voice, in their words and that is a powerful tool every child owns. We all have a voice with the power to create change. Cindy’s books are her voice as she shares valuable life lessons with each child. Cindy realized she too needed a stronger voice; so she returned to college in 2009. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 2014 with honors from Drury University in Springfield Mo.
