Embrace

Anne Powers is a Fine Arts major at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She grew up in Orland Park, the southwest suburbs on Chicago. She works mainly in Oil Painting, and also in ceramics. Anne is scheduled to graduate with her BFA in spring of 2015. She traveled to Africa in 2012 through Global Alliance Africa, Therapeutic Arts trip. Being interested in Special Needs and Therapy through art this trip suited Anne well. This series of paintings, ＂Don’t Hide Your Emotions＂ is done through the inspiration of the children she worked with while in Africa. Currently she is continuing this series, as well as venturing onto new studies of evolving around emotions and interactions between individuals, meditation through nature and spirituality.
