樹豆之栽培管理與利用

樹豆的花序屬於無限生長，以致樹豆開花、結莢及豆莢成熟時間參差不一，即使同一品種也要相差15-30天，在採收上無法一致，尤其低海拔淺山坡地種植的樹豆，在十二月莢果以成熟轉赤褐色時，尚有枝條綻放黃色花朵或約有8~20%莢果還在青綠或略呈淡褐色階段，而且有部份葉子並無明顯黃化或凋謝，略為半落葉性(臺東無霜地區，冬季平均最低溫度鮮少在16℃以下)，翌年三月以後樹豆又開始萌芽，以著生之莢果也陸續成熟，若善加以整枝、施肥、除草、培土、灌溉，妥加管理可以使產期提早30~45天，樹豆之再生栽培方式若能推廣利用，節省生產成本，必更具有發展的潛力。
