This is a Systematic Theology work that has the inerrant, infallible, verbally inspired word of God as its sole authority. Baptists, by definition, have the Holy Bible as their sole authority for all faith and practice. They should have a systematic theology book that does as well. This book contains volumes 3, 4, and 5 of ＂A Systematic Theology for the 21st Century＂. Volume 3 Theology Proper. Theology proper is the thorough study of God the Father and is distinguished from the larger study of ＂Theology＂ that might engulf the whole study of the Godhead and all things about God. Learning about God is paramount for a Christian and fundamental for all humanity, as is borne out in scripture: ＂That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else＂ (1Kings 8:60). Volume 4 Christology The doctrine of Christ is foundational to everything one is to know in theology. It is ＂first principle＂ it is ＂milk＂ and it is what brings us to ＂strong meat.＂ There is no better introduction to the doctrine of Christ than is found in God’s first sentence to the Hebrews. ＂God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; ...＂ Hebrews 1:1-4 Volume 5 Pneumatology When Jesus summarizes a subject, there is no greater summary. Jesus said, ＂Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: ... the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.＂ John 16:7-8,13
