中國大陸電影是指1949年後，中華人民共和國政府統治下的中國大陸地區所拍攝的電影。自1949年中華民國政府退守台灣，華語電影方開始分庭抗禮。影藝界人士大多集中在上海或移居香港、台灣及世界其他地區。中華人民共和國建立之後至文化大革命時，大陸電影內容多以政治角度出發。雖有佳作存在，但隨著政治氛圍的緊張、政治審查逐漸嚴格以及電影人在歷次政治運動中被鬥垮，大陸電影業進入了長期低迷停滯時期。1980年代，大陸實行改革開放，政治氛圍寬鬆，電影生產才開始復甦。但遠遠不如香港電影、臺灣電影的影響力。
