Sarah Crew starts out life with everything she has ever wanted. When she comes to live at Miss Minchin’s boarding school she endears herself to others around her by her generosity and compassion for those less fortunate than herself. She is dubbed “The Little Princess” by her classmates, by some out of spite and others admiration. When Sarah suffers a drastic reversal of fortune she lives up to her name and proves that in spite of misfortune, poverty, cruelty and hunger she can still be a Little Princess by her actions. A story that at times will make you want to laugh or cry. A happy ending but a sobering look at the plight of a suddenly fatherless penniless child. Illustrated with rich , beautiful, color drawings.
