Beast and Man in India, A Popular Sketch of Indian Animals in Their Relations with the People is a historic story written by the art teacher from JJ College Bombay and the father of Rudyard Kipling. This story provides some interesting art works. The most cryptic piece is the dedication page with a leonine figure made of arabic characters and says dedicated to the other three.

This is not only a book for facts, but it's more interesting to see the colonial eye for ethnology. It'll be particularly interesting for Indians with an interest in past culture as shown, and interpreted in colonial times.
