Jacob is a shy, bashful, if not clumsy young man who lives a private life as a writer. Emily is a depressed young woman who moves to the town Jacob lives in with her mother after her parents divorce. By chance, on a rainy morning, they meet and a friendship that turns into love forms, allowing Jacob and Emily to save each other from a life of emptiness through faith and promise in the LORD.

There was something about him that intrigued her. Something she couldn’t explain. He seemed so lonely. She wondered if she seemed the same way to him. She wondered what her therapist would say once she told her about her new living conditions. She wondered what her mother would say. She wondered where she would find another job. She wondered if Jacob would ever find out about her dark secret.
