Roger and Jace, cousins bound at birth, have always done what was expected of them from childhood, despite the horrors wrought on them by their fathers. They have always stood together, never leaving one another’s side, imagining the world they could create for their siblings. An enchanted world where no harm would ever come to any of them, a world where bloody rituals and sacrifices do not exist. Powered by a new found clarity the answer is easy for Roger, he has no qualms about stepping down, convinced Jace will do the right thing for their siblings and all the others that are counting on them. It all seems so easy until a string of unexplained murders unhinges their small town. Suddenly nothing is as it seems. Loyalties will be called into question, new allegiances will be formed where once there was only distrust and new horrors will be unleashed that cause even the most hardened among the family to doubt their sanity.
