Xavier Brady and Carolina Steel have had a pretty hot flirtation going, that is until two days before Valentine's Day when Xavier is shot in the line of duty at Carolina's bakery. After months of recuperation, Xavier is tired of Carolina avoiding him. On his way to find out why he hasn't seen hide nor hair of Carolina in two months, Xavier finds a package from his ex-girlfriend on his porch...a three year old daughter he had no idea existed.

More trouble comes his way when he finds out that he wasn't shot accidentally by a perp but on purpose by a stalker. Xavier has to put all of his skill as Crooked Creek's Sheriff into protecting his two ladies and taking down the stalker threatening his happily ever after.
