Charm Pack Scarf

There is nothing better than a nice, soft scarf on a blustery day. These patchwork versions have two personalities: the colorful side which features a variety of coordinating cotton prints, and the cozy lining which is made up of deliciously soft flannel. The world sees the patchwork while your neck enjoys the softness.

There are a few different approaches you can take to this project, depending on your skills and how much time you’d like to devote to the cause. I’ve chosen to use charm packs here because they are time-savers (no cutting!) and all of the fabrics within the pack were designed to look nice together (no agonizing over color choices!).

If you have yardage that you would prefer to use in place of the charm packs, feel free! These instructions work for any 5-inch square pieces, whether you cut them yourself, or buy them in a pack.

The materials listed are enough for three scarves that you can make assembly-line style. Keep one for yourself and give the other two as gifts!

REQUIRED SKILLS

The project is suitable for motivated beginners. If you can sew a straight line, then you can do this! There are many steps, but they are all straightforward enough for a beginner, if you take them one at a time.
