A FAMILY GRAVE

A body buried deep in the heart of the Wicklow mountains leads Detective Frank Blood to the gun used by a terrorist linked to the 1974 Dublin bombing, in which his parents were killed. But he's not the only one seeking the gun. The odds are firmly stacked against Blood discovering the weapon's true history and unravelling the mystery of his own young life, that has been wiped from his memory by the trauma of the bombing.

Blood's involvement in a car accident in which an old woman, Mrs Stanhope, is killed, brings back to him a fleeting memory of that fatal day and the identity of the bomber. It also brings into his life Mrs Stanhope's daughter Tasmin.

Leading a campaign to pressurize the government into holding a public enquiry into the bombing, Blood finds himself up against his superiors, the State and a host of unseen characters moving in and out of the twilight corners of his life. All are hell-bent on ensuring that he doesn’t discover the identity of the bomber. Although the ‘war’ in Northern Ireland is over, the personal battles of some of the combatants have only begun.

The media attention which Blood's campaign receives brings a supergrass witness out of hiding seeking justice, revenge and closure for his past deeds and protection from the people who still hunt him after all these years. Blood publicly threatens the establishment. If they don't set up a public enquiry into the bombing he will disclose to the media the military and terrorist intelligence that the supergrass has.

So the hunt begins to find out where Blood has hidden his star witness and silence him forever. Trying to keep his witness safe is hard enough, but another challenge facing Blood is Tasmin Stanhope, for no matter how good a detective he is, he just can't work out whose side she's really on.
