The author weaves a dynamic plot showing how one young woman’s life undergoes drastic changes with each situation she faces, much of which leads to more pain and heartbreak. The character, Angel Reneé Walker, is unlike other people in the world. She can tell what lies ahead  all the drama, pain, heartache, and betrayal. It all began on the first day of her senior year when her mother’s life was taken in a car accident. Since then, her world has turned upside down.

Angel finds herself in difficult situations, while her relationship with her father is at its breaking point. It seems that nothing can go right. She starts to give up on life, on everything. When she meets someone who makes her believe there is still a chance, she feels hopeful again. But like everything else in her life, will this love be destroyed? Angel will be tested when a dark secret shocks her and she finds out that the one person she trusted most in the world was involved in the tragic accident that took her mother's life.

“ I recently read "What's Next," and I was amazed. I thought that this book would be a self-help book to help young people deal with the trails of growing up. But I was wrong.  It was real talk from the beginning to the end. The young Angel Reneé Walker goes through things that a lot of adults can't handle. She lives, learns and falls down. But most of all, she had to find a way out of the place where people hide  to get away. I find that this book is inspirational and just what is needed in today’s world for our young people, both guys and girls. Grief comes to us all, but not all of us make it through. The aspects I admire is how she maintains her social standing among her peers.”
