Most college kids hit the books and get good grades, or hit on the girls and have a good time. And some are lucky enough to combine those successes. However, an unfortunate few score neither. And that’s Jerry Whimpby.
Despite above average intelligence, Jerry’s mired in college debt while pulling down mediocre grades from a mediocre school with no pipeline to jobs paying enough to satisfy the debt. And despite average looks, he doesn’t have a life with the girls to numb the reality of his economic destiny.
With a penchant for miscalculation and a tact for inexpediency, Jerry stumbles through a fog of lucklessness as his naivete morphs into cynicism. When he finally meets the girl who might raise his romantic stock, he discovers a spreadsheet that conceals more than it reveals. With hopes renewed and dashed anew, this lost love nonetheless guides him to the resiliency that can mold his future.
