Uncle Tom's Cabin

Uncle Tom's Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe is an anti-slavery novel that was published in 1852. The author was an active abolitionist and her novel, although fiction, is based on the lives of real slaves that she encountered. It was one of the best selling novels of the 19th century and is credited with helping to fuel the abolitionist cause.
