Exit Eleonora

Set in 2047, Exit Eleonora follows young journalist Charles Mincher on his journey through the world’s first total welfare state, made possible by two unprecedented and opposing events. The first is a pandemic, reducing Earth’s population to 450 million. The second is advanced technology, given to us by an alien race – our makers – in exchange for our oil. With wit, charm and verve, Charles carries the reader through a maelstrom of riveting philosophical musings, as he ventures deep into this fascinating and at times very dark world. In particular, he is curious to know how we respond to new societal freedoms: whether we travel, love, learn and play, or retreat in our leisure; whether we waste this new currency, freedom, or use it well.

Charles’ world is upturned when he meets Lucy Lang. As Charles falls for Lucy, his love for her throws all that he holds true and dear into light. Most especially, it forces him to consider his own place in the universe: whether here, on Earth, with his beloved Lucy, or out there, in the stars, with our makers, pushing the parameters of our greatness.
