The Prince is a political treatise written by Italian politician, philosopher and writer Niccolo Machiavelli. The Prince is often considered as one of the first works of modern political philosophy, in which the effective truth prevails over any abstract ideal. It was also in conflict with Catholic ans scholastic doctrines. The treatise is the most remembered works of Machiavelli which brought to the world word “Machiavellian”. The book is regarded as fundamental work in terms of systematization of knowledge of state and governance. Materials are still useful. Concepts written in the book are still relevant. It describes methods of coming to power such as use of concatenation of circumstances, luck, valor, mean act and crime.
