The Steadfast Tin Soldier is a literary fairy tale written by well-known Danish author Hans Christian Andersen, and was published in 1838 and was Andersen’s first not based upon a folk tale. The story tells us about tin soldier who fell in love with paper ballerina. A boy gets present on his birthday – set of 25 tin soldiers. One of them is one legged due to lack of tin when he was being made. The toys live their life at night. The soldier falls in love with paper ballerina standing on one leg too. Suddenly the goblin appears and tells the soldier to stop looking at ballerina, but soldier ignores him. Interesting method of telling story: soldier and ballerina during the whole fairy tale say not a single word and do not a single movement without assistance.
