Walter Crane was an English artist and book illustrator. He, along with Randolph Caldecott and Kate Greenaway, are considered the strongest contributors to the child's nursery motif that the genre of English children's illustrated literature would exhibit in its developmental stages in the latter 19th century. A beautifully illustrated alphabet book based around familiar nursery rhymes. Two complete ventures through the alphabet are included. In the first of these two volumes,classic nursery rhymes are set in gilded letters and traditional paintings by Walter Crane . A detailed preface provides historic details of the earliest publishing of children's books and the importance that Walter Crane played in that history. In the second, they are introduced with humorous illustrations and verses. It is a very useful book for parents and attractive one for children!
