Jade has always admired dangerous and cocky Austin from afar even before he was her stepbrother. It’s not like she’s obsessed with him or anything, it’s just that he’s kind of fascinating. And every other girl in the school seems to agree. There’s just something about Austin that everyone seems to be mesmerized by, and he knows it.

When their parents start dating and then get married, not much changes. Austin barely gives Jade the time of day. That is unless she’s covering for him so he can go out with one of the numerous girls that seem to be surrounding him or attend the school’s next hottest party.

Their parents would never question the smart and dependable Jade. She would never lie to them. But Jade is tired of being the shy girl who blends in with her surroundings, never really having a moment to shine on her own.

So she comes up with a proposition for the popular and handsome Austin. Help her get a date to the annual Back to School dance that’s a few weeks ago, teaching her how to be the kind of person Austin is along the way. The kind of person everyone around them seems to worship. And in return, Jade will cover for him with their parents for an entire month when it comes to going out, letting him out of his current grounded status.

It’s an offer Austin can’t refuse and pretty soon Jade is on a rollercoaster ride with the last boy she ever thought would be able to help her. But you know what they say, the heart knows no boundaries, and Jade might just find the guy she really wants has been the one standing right in front of her the whole time.
