The Tale of the Trees

Katie is devastated. Her beloved husband and her beautiful daughter were dead. How would she ever be able to go one with life? In her agony, she sought refuge among the majestic oaks of what had been her family’s favorite retreat. Yet the pain was there too, robbing her of sleep, appetite, and even the will to go on. 

In her sorrow she thought she heard a message in the hushed whisper of the aged oak trees. The sound soothed her mind a little bit but not the emptiness. Katie couldn't concentrate on much, but she listened to the gentle breeze through the trees and tried to escape her loss.
