As Master and Commander of the space tug Scolex, Jake Ligthart's plate is kept pretty full by dealing with freight barges, salvage, bureaucratic red tape, amazon women, and cannibal cooks. But when a rogue weapon from a forgotten war “makes friends” with a luxury liner carrying an alien ambassador, Ligthart finds himself the unwilling host to a diplomatic mission in the farthest reaches of pirate-infested space.
