His fiction works are considered part of the Romantic movement and, more specifically, dark romanticism. His themes often center on the inherent evil and sin of humanity, and his works often have moral messages and deep psychological complexity.

'Tanglewood Tales for Boys and Girls' is a children book by Nathaniel Hawthorne that was initially published in 1853. The book is a sequel to 'A Wonder Book For Girls And Boys' and it's also based upon ancient greek myths, such as the legend of Minotaur.
