Brett, a brilliant physician had a bright career path ahead of him when false accusations led to the sudden loss of his medical license. The shock of the allegation and loss of his license however, was overshadowed by the discovery that the grandson of a dear patient was involved in the malicious plan to destroy his career.

When he failed to secure an equally fulfilling vocation, Brett resorted to spending his morning hours walking the halls of a retail furniture store, near to where he lived with his wife, Myra, and their nine-year-old daughter, Rachel. It was there that he met Paul, a wealthy owner of a luxury car dealership, and his daughter, Emma, who suffered from a severe form of anorexia nervosa.

When Paul offered him the opportunity to oversee the care of his only child, Brett reluctantly accepted, despite his limited knowledge of the illness. He accepted the offer on one condition – that he does the work pro bono. With no set description of what the job entailed, Brett realized that Paul had slowly turned him into a foster parent. He eventually involved his wife and daughter in his attempt to meet Paul’s overly optimistic expectations.

With Brett away from his practice, he was missed by many patients, some of who started a social media campaign on his behalf, and embarked on a protest to secure his return to work, claiming his innocence.
