Originally published in 1886, this is the second cowboy autobiography ever published - a story of the romance and adventures of a life on the plains with the varied experiences as cowboy, stock-owner, and rancher. C. C. Post lived through the Wild West's golden years, and writes with a clear sense of authority. Of particular interest, much of the novel revolves around Terre Haute, Indiana, today, considered the Midwest, not the West. But, in the late 19th century, far-western Indiana was as wild as anyone could want.
This edition of the book contains all of the original 19 illustrations, rejuvenated.
