When her mother is murdered by her enraged father Branka is left orphaned and sent to a German military prisoner camp where her name is changed to Branka. After twenty years she climbs the ranks of the military and her new name begins to mean something. Until the reign of a new commander changes the face of Branka's world forever and she begins to spiral downward. In her wake she loses the loves in her life and begins to feel weak and hopeless, now she must fight back against a commander that she is closer too than she knows.
