Living deep in forgotten forests, the spiritual Achalaja race isolates itself from the rest of the world.  Eight-year-old Nyriaana is an orphan of her tribe.  Watched over by her friend and fellow orphan, Juaan, the pair are inseparable.  

Tragically, Juaan is no true Achalaja.  Tribal lore holds no place for a Forbidden child.  As he grows closer to manhood, it is only a matter of time before the Elders cast him from the tribe; a death sentence in an unforgiving world.  Blinded by innocence, Nyriaana has no idea that their days together are numbered.
