After discovering the tenets of the New Thought movement and immersing himself in the study of the laws of attraction, Dennis Huffington set out to achieve goals that he had pushed aside since his teenage years, which included being a writer. A feud with his family erupted at age 17, causing him to be homeless and eventually leading him to start a new life in St. Louis, Missouri, from scratch. He was a long way from his small town in New Jersey and he quickly learned that building relationships was his only chance to make a better way for himself. Some 15 years later, after living in survival mode in a city deemed “America’s Most Dangerous” and the “Murder Capital of the USA,” Dennis left for the beautiful landscape, nature, and growing city of Phoenix. Now able to reflect on his life, Dennis was inspired to share his story and begin living for himself. He dedicated his life to writing his first book. He also worked to mend fences with his dying father, whom he hadn’t fully forgiven. Following his father’s death, Dennis discovered more about his family, his childhood, and himself than he had ever anticipated. These discoveries were his only inheritance, and serve as the first set of memoirs to be released in his From Scratch series. The From Scratch series chronicles the struggles, victories, and lessons learned as a young man makes his own way from homeless teenager to college graduate to a media hopeful.
