Professor Herdegen has since 1995 held the chair for Public, European, and International Law at Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn. He is also Director of the Institute for Public International Law and the Institute for Public Law. He has been a visiting professor at New York University’s Global Law School, University of St. Gallen, and University of Paris I; as well as an honorary professor at Pontifical University Javeriana (Bogotà) and University del Rosario (Bogotà).
