’Re-present, Represent’ is a contemporary, literary fiction set in a nondescript location. The novel’s experimental structure operates like a waking dream. The book’s main section follows the story of a young man called Cornelius who, after witnessing the death of a frog, goes on a mission to try and speak in a pure form of language. This endeavour takes Cornelius on a journey into medical institutions, flying man of war ships, world war two bunkers, medieval cities and African desserts. This section is followed by a chapter depicting hieroglyphics, a third chapter concerning a homosexual hedgehog’s search for freedom, and a final chapter containing several algebraic equations.
