Anti-Angiogenic Functional and Medicinal Foods

In this work, esteemed international contributors explore the history and use of functional foods around the world. It illustrates the importance of recent "ohmics" technology for understanding the molecular basis of nutrition and systems toxicology. Individual chapters explain the role of angiogenesis in various chronic diseases including tumors, cardiovascular disease, inflammatory arthritis, and obesity. The text studies specific foods and their functional bioactive compounds such as edible berry anthocyanins, dietary flavonoids, probiotics, and marine polysaccharides.
