The book discusses the fundamentals of SOFCs by covering ongoing research and challenges to be solved. It discusses current and future materials and offers an overview of development activities with a more general system approach toward fuel cell plant technology, including plant design and economics, industrial data and advances in technology.

Radenka Maric is a professor at the University of Connecticut, Storrs, CT. During the last 15 years, a major focus of Dr. Maric’s research activities has been on developing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) materials and new manufacturing processes for thin films that may be used in such energy applications as solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) and proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) components, resulting in lower materials and processing costs relative to traditional fabrication techniques while also improving product life and reliability.
