Larry Woiwode (1941-2022) was an award-winning writer whose honors included the William Faulkner Foundation Award for Best First Novel (What I’m Going to Do, I Think), the John Dos Passos Prize, and two awards from the American Academy of Arts and Letters. A Guggenheim Fellow and a finalist for both the National Book Award and the National Book Critics Circle Award, Woiwode was also Poet Laureate of North Dakota since 1995.
He was the author of Beyond the Bedroom Wall, Poppa John, and Born Brothers.
