A veteran of the close action in the English Channel and North Sea, in January of 1943 Bob Kearton is ordered to the Mediterranean’s beleaguered Malta, a mere 60 miles from Axis-occupied Sicily. The tide of defeat is thought to be turning, the enemy is no longer advancing along the North African coast, and Kearton's is a new war of stealth, subterfuge, and daring, in which his men—nicknamed the Glory Boys—are only too expendable.
