博客來＂God Through the Lens of Grief＂ is a poignant memoir detailing my transformative first-year journey as a young, pregnant widow with two young children. At the age of 32, my husband’s sudden passing from a brain hemorrhage left me grappling with profound loss and despair. In this book, I candidly share my raw emotions and vulnerabilities experienced throughout the grieving process. Struggling with my beliefs as a Christian and how God fitted into this life-changing event, this journey changed my relationship with God, as I discovered He wasn’t a God who was ’far’ away as what I always thought, but One who was so close to me in my grief, and cared for me and my children, despite my anger towards Him at the death of my husband and the father of our children.
The most important thing however in this book is not so much my grief journey but who God became in my loss. In this book, I aimed to share and convey that God is the new life-giver, even when it feels and looks like everything is lost. He also is the restorer of broken dreams which can often follow when we face a loss; whether that is the loss of a spouse, child, business or health.
And I know that this was the most important aspect of my journey, who God became to me in my grief, and what He restored to me; hope, joy, new dreams and a fulfilling life. This is who He desires to be to anyone who faces heartbreaking loss and grief.
This journey brought me, despite the depths of my sorrow, a newfound and profound faith in God as He spoke to me through impressions of various scriptures, but also through dreams and words that came to me in my sleeping time, God started the restoration process in my life with a seed of hope and this has continued to grow.
This memoir is a testament to the transformative power of faith and how even in our darkest moments, God’s presence can illuminate the path to hope and renewal.
