Roseth immigrated to Canada in 1960, going back to school as an adult and progressing to various management positions in several firms over fifteen years. In 1985, he became an entrepreneur, operating A. and S. Roseth, Inc., a moving and storage company that he sold before retiring in 2001. Even though he was hampered by the language barrier, exhausted by the concurrent demands of work, studies, and family, and stymied by a lack of emotional and economic support, Roseth learned from his struggles-both successes and failures-and became a better person for it.
