Sylvia Ross is a California writer. Born in Los Angeles, early on she worked as a cell painter for Walt Disney Productions in Burbank, later teaching school in Central California. She has authored two children’s books, LION SINGER and BLUE JAY GIRL. Her work has been included in a number of highly regarded anthologies. She has frequently exhibited artwork and given readings at different venues in her home state. ACTS OF KINDNESS, ACTS OF CONTRITION is her first novel. She is also the author of ACORNS AND ABALONE, a small book of drawings, poems, and short stories. Her second novel, EAST OF THE GREAT VALLEY, will be ready for publication by the end of 2012. She and her husband live in eastern Tulare County.
