Before that he was a U.S. Air Force physician for eleven years. Dr. Rone is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Endocrinology; he holds memberships in numerous professional organizations, including the American and European Thyroid Associations, the American Diabetes Association, The Endocrine Society, and The Obesity Society. Besides over a quarter century of clinical experience, Dr. Rone is a diabetes and thyroid patient himself. He has authored several articles in peer-reviewed medical journals, a textbook chapter, and is a mystery novelist.
