Daphne Simpkins presently writes The Adventures of Mildred Budge, stories about a retired fifth grade school teacher who is now a full-time Southern church lady. Current titles include the first two novels Cloverdale and Embankment and a collection of short stories, Miss Budge in Love. All titles are available in paperback and on Kindle. Before she became the creator of Mildred Budge, Daphne wrote about love and caregiving in the memoir, The Long Good Night (Eerdmans). A member of the speakers’ bureau for the Alabama Humanities Foundation Daphne also teaches English part-time for Auburn University Montgomery.
