Popular sayings can seem impactful - and they can be, when taken in context. But the context rarely, if ever, explained. Worse, many of us are conditioned to accept societal ’truths’ without careful consideration of their appropriateness in our individual lives. Instead of deciding for ourselves, we’re bombarded with external gurus trying to sell us their truth.
