They warned us in books, essays, interviews, and thought experiments. They warned us with metaphors and manifestos, parables and polemics. And for the most part, we ignored them.
This book is about those voices. They came from across centuries and continents: poets, scientists, philosophers, engineers, journalists, prophets. Some were household names. Others were dismissed, marginalized, or forgotten.
What united them wasn’t ideology or discipline, but vision. Each of them looked beyond the surface of their time - and saw the future rushing toward us. And then they tried to stop it.
The Premise
