Blizzard's Wake

Kate Sterling has lost four years of her life to grief and anger. Zeke Dexter has lost four years of his life as well -- in jail for the accident that killed Kate's mother. Just out of prison, Zeke wants to put the past behind him, but a freak blizzard makes him a prisoner once again -- he of Kate, and Kate of him.

Phyllis Reynolds Naylor writes for both children and adults and is the author of more than one hundred books, including the Alice series. In 1992 her novel Shiloh won the Newbery Medal. She wanted to write about a blizzard ever since the night she found herself trapped in one in North Dakota. Although she was in no danger of losing her life, she was so fascinated and moved by accounts of local people who had survived the blizzard of 1941 in that area that she knew she would eventually write a book about it. It was that night and that experience that provided the spark for Blizzard's Wake. Mrs. Naylor and her husband make their home in Bethesda, Maryland.
