At around age 14, I was given a book written by Paul Brunton concerning ＂secret teachings＂ from the far east. This turn-of-the-century explorer of the mind and revelatory author detailed God’s explicit presence in the world . . . and how to access higher powers that are ＂hidden＂ in plain sight. One unforeseen consequence of my 65 year love affair with ＂that far-out stuff you read＂ has been an expanded view of the biblical ＂Kingdom Of Heaven,＂ a phrase we are told was a favorite of Jesus. As family members and friends are dying more frequently, expected and unexpectedly, I decided to write a story that answers, in part, a question that I imagine one or more of my grandchildren might ask when I am gone. ＂What did Grand PaPoo think about that?＂ The ＂that＂ is ＂what happens when you die?＂ With stories of the ＂wisdom tale＂ genre, there is absolutely no intent to convince anyone of the validity or elegance of the ideas.
