Benjamin Sobieck works for F+W, the parent company of legacy non-fiction magazines, books, TV shows, events and vertical content brands. It’s his job to develop these brands into 21st century businesses. He has written for Gun Digest, BLADE, Living Ready, Tactical Gear, Deer & Deer Hunting (and its cable TV shows), Modern Shooter, Turkey & Turkey Hunting, Trapper & Predator Caller, Antique Trader, Goldmine, Sports Collectors Digest, Horticulture, Writer’s Digest, Tyrus Books, The Writers Store, Old Cars Weekly, and Military Trader, among others. He is the author of Cleansing Eden, 8 Funny Detective Stories with Maynard Soloman, Gal-Damn Detective, and Weapons for Writers: A Practical Reference for Writing Firearms and Knives in Fiction. His stories have appeared in Drunk on the Moon 2, Exiles, Four Days of Madness, Crimespree Magazine, Out of the Gutter, Black Heart Magazine; Thrillers, Killers ’n’ Chillers, and other flash fiction ’zines. Prior to F+W, he was a crime reporter for the Cambridge Star in Minnesota. Ben Sobieck graduated from St. Cloud State University with a major in journalism and a minor in creative writing in 2007. He helps his family run a ranch in North Dakota, where The Invisible Hand is set. Much of what is depicted in the novel is based on actual events.
