Kathlena Contreras has been writing since the age of eight, when while hanging out at her dad’s office one summer, she typed out a story about a saber-toothed tiger that encounters a time machine. The story was three paragraphs long. Many years and many paragraphs later and here she is, still writing about weird things. In between writing, Kathlena has been the owner of a successful small business, an assistant medical librarian, a database manager and a pusher of paper in countless offices. She’s also been a copy editor for three nationally distributed rodeo magazines and the editor of a local literary magazine. She currently lives with her husband, five dogs and assorted livestock on the edge of the woods above the valley east of Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA, the Land of Enchantment, a place where the view goes on forever. Kathlena L. Contreras also writes as K. Lynn Bay.
