Culture, Communication, and Cooperation: Interpersonal Relations and Pronominal Address in a Mexican Organization

According to the Covarrubias (U. of Washington), this study looks at patterns of pronominal workplace interaction by examining the ＂uses of pronominal markers by some Mexican workers to communicate their individual and communitary singularity＂ and by addressing ＂key alternative pronominal strategies Mexican organizational members exploit to align themselves in relation to other members.＂ Beginning chapters of the study present ＂21 different types of articulated relational alignments＂ of ＂workers in a large Mexican workplace.＂ Later chapters present a ＂cultural model of organizational cooperation＂ for ＂explicating the role of pronominal usage in the shaping of group outcomes.＂ Annotation c.
