Rose McQuinn has agreed to help her neighbour, Mrs Lawers, by delivering a family legacy to her only living relative. But Rose’s philanthropic journey takes a turn towards the dangerous when she is attacked on board a train. On returning to Edinburgh she finds that further sinister events have occurred in her absence, sparking off a murder investigation.
