In this book, Jim Owen examines historic fundamentalist magazines and journals to determine why there is such a radical disparity between what historians have written and what the historic fundamentalists actually did. Through Owen’s investigation, we see a compassionate movement very involved-socially and politically-during the Great Depression, and a group that was vocal in combating anti-Semitism and denouncing the horrors of Nazi persecution.

Jim Owen holds an M.A. in Humanities (1979) from California State University, Dominguez Hills. He is Associate Professor of History at the Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California.
