Anatomy of a Deception: A Reconstruction and Analysis of the Decision to Invade Iraq

This book reconstructs the public dialogue that led to the United States collectively making the decision to invade and occupy the sovereign nation of Iraq. The book examines this public debate concerning the invasion and occupation of Iraq and focuses on thinking critically about the decision to go to war.

Robert Abele holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Marquette University and M.A. degrees in both theology and divinity. He is the author of two other books: A User’s Guide to the USA PATRIOT Act (University Press of America, 2005) and Democracy Gone: A Chronicle of the Last Chapters of the Great American Democratic Experiment ((University Press of America, 2009). He has also written numerous articles on politics and U.S. foreign and domestic policies. Abele is an instructor of philosophy at Diablo Valley College in California.
