In this study, Parks (U. of Washington) considers how personal relationships between individuals are affected by the larger social context surrounding them. Drawing upon original research, he looks at how people initiate personal relationships; become friends or romantic partners; manage relational boundaries; and terminate relationships. Differences in relational development at various stages of life and among different genders and ethnicities are also addressed. Annotation 穢2006 Book News, Inc., Portland, OR (booknews.com)
